By popular request, in our second edition of Interview as a Crew we are being joined by the woman behind the iconic Season 1 Our Flag Means Death looks: Season One Costume Designer Christine Wada!

CHRISTINE WADA
Christine Wada began her career working as a costumer with the Coen Brothers on O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Intolerable Cruelty, and The Ladykillers. She received a Costume Designers Guild nomination for Excellence in Contemporary Film for her work as costume designer on Bridesmaids, directed by Paul Feig. She also received Emmy Nominations and Costume Designers Guild nominations for both Seasons 1 and 2 of the Marvel series, Loki. Christine collaborated with Taika Waititi on Our Flag Means Death and the pilot of Interior Chinatown.
Her designs can also be seen in Cameron Crowe’s series Roadies and in the pilot of Altered Carbon, directed by Miguel Sapochnik. She collaborated with Ruben Fleischer on Zombieland: Double Tap. In The Dirt, Christine created a visually rich and exciting world that transported audiences back to the rise of Mötley Crüe.
Outside of the theatrical realm, she has worked on commercials with noted directors Sam Raimi, Jon Favreau, and Shawn Levy. Her latest work can be seen in Dito Montiel’s feature, Riff Raff and in Jonathan van Tulleken’s upcoming Apple TV series Lucky.
